ASA 2011Parent Committee


Welcome to the ASAPC!

As parents of ASA students, you are also members of the school's parent-volunteer organization, the ASA Parent Committee.

The ASA Parent Committee (ASAPC) was established to:

  • Assist the administration and the staff in providing a safe, challenging, stimulating, college preparatory environment for our students
  • Support the mission of the art staff.
  • Bring into closer relationship the home and school.
  • Provide social activities which nurture the middle and high school experience.

    • We accomplish these objectives through volunteering and fundraising. We know that our involvement is not only critical to ASA, but that it sends a strong message to our children, as nothing else can, that their success and happiness in school is important enough for us to take the time to be there.

    ASAPC fundraising efforts directly benefit the extensive ASA Arts Program. Our contributions also supplement such things as field trips, ensuring that all students can participate. The Parent Committee is the vehicle through which much of the extra-curricular activities of our students are organized and supported.

    ASAPC loves to encourage a sense of community among ASA parents by providing various opportunities to interact socially as a part of ASA functions.

    The Parent Committee Board serves as a steering committee to organize and promote activities and fundraising. Officers are elected at the end of each school year and meet during the summer to begin planning the next year's activities. All parents are welcome and encouraged to come to the ASAPC Board meetings, which are held in the administration building. Watch ASA This Week for the times to be announced. We want hear your ideas for family activities, socials, and fundraising, and are always looking for ways to bring the community of ASA parents and students together. However, we know how busy everyone is. You can still be very active with the Parent Committee without attending a meeting. Please see the Volunteer Opportunities page for more information.
